Potty training with Tucker (now 3 years-old) has been a little difficult. Lis and I have had glimpses of him catching on to this 'whole process,' but nothing ground breaking. We had another one today just a few moments ago...

Lis was going to change his pull-up in his bedroom before putting him down for a nap, but he got all upset until I asked if he wanted to go into the bathroom to change. Well, Lis just reported that when she took off his pull-up, he looked like he was waiting to go. So, upon sitting down on the potty, Tucker went no. 1 (aim was a little off, but that's okay). Hooray!

Quinn and Cleo are starting to use spoons at the table now. Hooray! They also have their first molars coming in. Owch! Quinn seems to be hurtin' the most and has been taking Motrin with her milk.

I was watching Curious George this morning with the twins, and I had to laugh at the Man in the Yellow Hat. The scene had George, a neighbor kid, 3 ducks, a duckling and a squirrel screaming and sliding down a hill in a wading pool. The Man in the Yellow Hat opens his door questioning, 'Geor... Oh my heck!' just as the wading pool crew are about to make impact on the front door. The part that made me laugh was the Man in the Yellow Hat saying, 'Oh my heck!' It just struck me as funny that those were the 'G-rated' words selected just for that exclamation.

It made me wonder if those same writers might consider using the word 'hiney,' which isn't a word I hear very often in my neck of the woods. I mean seriously, 'hiney' is one of those words that will make adults stop and ask themselves why you would chose that word in everyday conversation. I think I could really clean up some of my language with this word and still have the same impact that another three letter 'a' word has. Consider the following:

• openin' a can o' whoop hiney
• that's just hiney
• hineywipe
• hineyhole
• kiss-hiney
• dumbhiney
• smarthiney
• hineytastic
• etc, etc, etc...
